We are seeking a professional PR Manager to develop the PR strategy, plan and policy within the organisational and marketing/communication strategy and goals. For developing, coordinating and being executional responsible for external PR through directing the European PR - processes for brand and marketing communication, product launches, collections and other programs that will best promote and represent the brand(s) whilst achieving corporate objectives. Checking the marketing- and communication activities within the organisation on brand, ethics, moral, culture, environment and corporate social responsibility. Giving advise to Management on content and form of the Brand reaction to external developments. For developing, coordinating and being executional responsible for internal communication.
Place in the organisation Europe Marketing Department. Hierarchically and operationally managed by the Marketing Director.
Part of a team of three, working alongside the Marketing Manager and the Visual Merchandising Manager.
Key-tasks and responsibilities The PR Manager will develop and execute the Long Term Strategy, Plan and Policy for PR in Europe that will support our company’s objectives.
You are:
in the area of brand-related PR, • responsible for the development and execution, in line with the organisational, marketing and communication strategies and goals, of a Long Term PR Plan, Strategy and Policy for Europe; playing a vital role in meeting both external and internal communication needs; • experienced in working alongside with and manage Pan–European and European PR Agencies; • familiar with PR Tools when it comes to traditional and non-traditional (social) media, public relations, product seeding, grass roots events and sponsorships, etcetera; • experienced in controlling all PR related communication activities within the involved disciplines on ethical, moral, cultural, environmental and social grounds; addressing people involved/advising them in case needed; • experienced and responsible for drawing up a PR plan and translating this into concrete activities; drawing up year planning; • managing the PR budget at both European and country level; • experienced in taking care of realisation of goals from the PR plan, controlling progress and execution and adjusting the process when needed; • used to writing and/or coordinating press releases; • used to developing and taking care for the operational management of press folders and press photo’s; used to taking care for the development of a press manual for Free Publicity;
in the area of Corporate PR, • experienced in managing international press contacts for the European headquarter, provide guidance/statements to spokespersons in the countries and be pro-active in times of crisis; • a mature counterpart of the Managing Director and the Marketing Director of Europe and the PR Manager in the USA, advising them and tuning in with them regarding content and form of the Brand reaction towards signaled developments in the market, questions by the press, social developments, crisis situations, expansion and sponsoring;
in the area of Free Publicity, • experienced in developing a Free Publicity policy, tuned with the Brand communications strategy and objectives and the company’s policies and objectives; drawing up an action plan and Free Publicity calender; • experienced in controlling all Free Publicity activities within the involved disciplines on ethical, moral, cultural and social grounds and standards; addressing involved persons/advising them when needed; • responsible for generating product/activity (brand) related publicity; • used to initiating magazine campaigns/promotions; takes care of operational out-roll;
in the area of Internal Communication, • responsible for the development of the Brand internal communication policy; develops an internal communications programme based on this policy; and manages (the follow-up of) the internal communication; • advises the HR manager and the Marketing Director on the development of internal and external HR communication policy and HR tools; checks these on ethical, moral, cultural, environmental and social grounds; speaks to/ advises those involved in case needed; • controls the brand, the housestyle and way of working of the internal communication tools;
Powers The PR Manager develops, manages and executes the PR Strategy, Plan and Policy and executes tactical activities independently, when needed in consideration with the Marketing Director. In case of crisis with the Managing Director.

• HBO – Communication or PR or NGPR A&B; Minimum of 5-7 years in a similar function; • You have experience in the fashion/sports and/or retail branche; • You are a good communicator and have good social skills; • You are a born networker; • English well spoken and written is vital; other language skills preferred; • Knowledge of MS Office. • You are used to being the driving force behind all external PR communication; • You are a natural team player who thrives working in a constant changing and culturally diverse business; • You are a strategic thinker with strong business skills and used to work in a high pressure environment; • You are experienced with all phases of the PR mix with consumer products preferably with footwear and/or apparel experience; • You are used to work within a Anglo – American Culture; • You are used to work in a cross functional environment and are able to look over the boundaries of your profession.
